I’ve been striving for great skin for about a year and haven’t been able to find what really works for my skin. Being a busy mom on the go means I don’t have time to truly take care of my skin and body as well as I would like. I know it’s a bad habit, but I plan to make some changes in the new year. Healthy skin is on the agenda and I need to do it without taking any skin supplements. (Trust me i’ve tried and they caused more harm than good). This month I have been sticking to a skincare routine and it’s been working really well for me. I’m not sure if they will drastically alter my skin, but I will definitely use until empty. Here are my December skincare favourites.
December skincare favourites
I’ve been doing a simple combination skincare routine by Monu Skin. My T-zone is oily but the rest of my face is dry, so this routine has been working out well for me so far. After using the skin perfector, my naturally dehydrated skin sucks in the product in less than 5 minutes, and I feel like I should apply lotion. However my skin feels pretty smooth for five minutes! 🙂
The toner is great for removing excess makeup, and i’ve found myself toning to remove makeup , then cleaning , then toning again.
How I use the products in the morning
- Then follow up with a makeup primer, I’ve been using this one and is freaking amazing! mamas getting old and the forehead wrinkles need to be filled in!
I love using travel size products because it means if the system doesn’t work for me I can move on to the next without having wasted money or product. Plus I can take it on my impromptu weekend trips.

The Glycolic overnight peel is something I started using a few months ago religiously for 2 weeks, saw no results, then stopped. Then I found it in my beauty drawer of forgotten products this month and thought I would give it another try. I’ve seen bloggers swear by it saying its amazing and leaves their skin super smooth. Personally I haven’t had super smooth skin from using it, but I do feel that its doing something! (kinda sorta maybe? )
*I am 3 weeks in to using the product, so i’ll update you in another 3 weeks to see if there are any drastic changes.
The Nip Fab Glycolic scrub is new to this months favourites as i’ve been using it only for four days . WOW is all I can say, as it’s fabulous and makes me feel fabulous after using it!
I’ve been away from home since a few days before christmas and i’m still away until new years, so this routine has been the only thing i’ve been using. My skin was starting to feel and visibly become cloggy and I needed to open my pores and get the hidden dirt out. One use of the scrub and my skin was as smooth as a baby’s bum!
If you have sensitive skin, i’m not sure if you will be able to handle it as its extremely coarse. It feels like you are really scrubbing away your skin, which is exactly what I love about it.
(Yass scrub those black marks blemishes and hyper-pigmentation away! please! )
How I use the products at Night
I’ve been using the Argan oil for about a year, and it keeps my lips from peeling at night. I have a bad habit of drinking tea or coffee near bed time and they both leave me subconsciously feeling dehydrated. The only way I know i’m dehydrated is when my lips start to peel . Argan oil is great for repairing and adding moisture to my skin!
I plan to continue using these products into the new year and hopefully can make some significant changes to my skin!
