When we go on holiday, we can sometimes become obsessed with the idea of “taking a break” from home; that we forget to actually enjoy the fact that we are in a new country. There are 4 things to do to make your trip feel totally fulfilled and i’m not talking about “full from a satisfyingly greasy burger”. Let me break it down into sections for you :
4 things to do
When it comes to fashion , you have two options. You can either dress to impress in the latest outfits from your hometown; or you can completely embrace the final destination cultural attire! My suggestion is to not give a f*** and live a little! Choose the latter and embrace everything you can! Especially if that culture is not too accessible in your hometown!
“How do you like your coffee in the morning?” Ever tried bespoke coffee? As a coffee obsessive myself , I always try the native coffee beans. I know it sounds random but you don’t have to be coffee specific. When it comes to things to do, i’m just saying to find something you wouldn’t normally do at home. Ask the hotel concierge where you can get the best native drink! (better yet, ask a local! )
Embrace the official music of the culture! Every country has their own music style, why not take a night out on the town and check out the local music scene! Dance the night away and come home with a few new songs on your playlist!
See a local performance! Get out of the hotel area and check out the local talent in a dance show, play or concert! It will be the most authentic experience of the culture you can think of.
Next time you’re planning a vacation, think about ways you can appreciate the culture! Try and get involved as much as you can and remember to just have fun!
